Here’s a look at today’s headlines:

The Grant County 4-H Club provided the food service for the 2016 Grant County Farm and Livestock Bureau annual banquet at the end of October.  4-Hers were also able to participate in a unique learning experience with a certified horse trainer.  The trainer came to Silver City as part of another clinic that was being offered, but 4-H students were able to have an entire day of one-on-one training with the clinician.

In sports action, the Mustang football team lost a tough 28-13 game on Saturday.  The Mustangs conclude the season this Saturday against West Texas A&M, and will honor 11 seniors for senior day before the game.

The Lady ‘Stangs volleyball team dropped a close 3-1 match against Texas Woman’s University on Saturday.  The last three matches of the regular season will be played at home.

A reminder for tomorrow’s November 8th General Election: voting convenience centers in Silver City include the Grant County Clerk’s Office, Silver City Woman’s Club, and the National Guard Armory.  Other Grant County polling locations include the Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire Department, the Tyrone, Bayard, and Hurley Community Centers, San Lorenzo Elementary School and Cliff High School.  In Luna County, vote at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center or Holy Family Parrish Hall in Deming, or the Columbus Village Library.  Lordsburg voters can cast their ballots at the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department, James H. Baxter Civic Center, or the Special Events.  The Virden, Animas, and Rodeo Community Centers will provide polls for other Hidalgo County residents.  Don’t forget to get out and vote!
