The following is a release from the NM DOT for anyone who may be planning a trip to Las Cruces before New Years Eve.
The District One office for the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) with La Calerita Construction continue with the structure of the eastbound overpass as the deck panels will be placed during the overnight hours on December 30th.
The contractor will CLOSE a portion of Avenida de Mesilla from Hickory Loop to Lakeside Drive on Monday December 30th at 6:00 pm, and will reopen this section of roadway on Tuesday December 31st by 5:00 am. The closure will allow the contractor to have the eastbound deck panels placed across Avenida de Mesilla during the overnight hours.
Motorists will be advised of seek an alternate route by means of Hickory Loop and Lakeside Drive. Traffic alerts are posted throughout the work zone advising motorists of detours throughout the project. Additional detours for the City of Las Cruces and the Town of Mesilla are located at Motel Boulevard exit 139, or University Avenue exit 142 for both east and westbound I-10 traffic.
