The Elkhorn Fire 12 miles east of Reserve that started on Thursday and burned 175 acres is now 100% contained. Fire crews will remain in the area today to monitor for hot spots.
Grant County and USFS Fire Crews have stopped the spread of the Georgetown Fire 13 miles east of Silver City in the vicinity of the Georgetown Cemetery, and are mopping up the fire area. They will remain on the fire through the evening, patrolling the perimeter and dealing with hot spots. No structures are threatened. Final acreage is 6.12 acres. The fire is 50% contained.
The Whitewater Fire that burned south of Tyrone last week is inactive.
