The United Way of Southwest New Mexico is looking for volunteers to help with the “Mad City Money Reality Simulation” event that will be held at Cobre High School on Tuesday, March 26th. The event will give youth an opportunity to take on the role of an adult and experience the “real world” as they navigate occupation, salary, student and credit card debt and distinguish the difference between wants and needs. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Monica Whitman at United Way at 575-524-7561. That is 575-524-7561.

Gila Trails Info is advising all those who are planning on visiting the Gila River to plan accordingly when visiting the trails along the West, Middle and main Gila. Forks of the Gila River have been rising as the snow continues to melt and with the rain predicted for next week, the rivers may become flooded. Also, Beaver Dam along the first part of the west fork has turned the trail into a river due to large amounts of rain and snow.
