Last week, the Youth Murals Program held a dedication ceremony for the mosaic wall at CP Anderson, a collaborative project involving San Lorenzo Elementary, Cobre High, and Aldo Leopold YCC. Artist Kathryn Allen worked closely with San Lorenzo students to design the mural and create the ceramic tiles featuring local flora and fauna. High school students glazed and installed the mosaic tiles. On Saturday, the dedication of the mosaic picnic tables at Aldo Leopold Vista took place. Both mural projects were part of the celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the Gila Wilderness designation.
