The Grant County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is reminding residents that fire season has begun. In preparation, the OEM launched the County’s “Ready, Set, Go!” public outreach campaign on March 1. From now through June, the OEM will share regular updates and safety tips via social media to support the campaign. This month’s focus has been on the five essential steps to creating a defensible space around your home. For any questions, residents are encouraged to visit the Grant County Administration Building or their local fire department to pick up informational guides on “Ready, Set, Go!, Living With Fire”.

Silver Consolidated Schools are prioritizing the development of social-emotional learning skills during the current school year. As part of this effort, students, teachers, and parents/guardians will be invited to participate in brief surveys on student well-being, administered by the New Mexico Public Education Department. In addition, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to complete an optional survey to share their experiences with the Silver Consolidated School District. The survey window will open on April 21 and close on May 2. For more information and to take the survey, visit Silver Schools dot org.
