At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a total of 28,844 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases with 16,301 tested as recovered. In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County has risen to 120 total cases with 46 recovered; Luna County increased to 419 total cases with 162 recovered; Hidalgo County remains at 99 total cases with 70 recovered; and Catron County remains at 9 total cases with 4 recovered.
The Navopache Electric Cooperative (NEC) has announced a planned power outage tomorrow, September 29th, that will affect Luna, Reserve, Glenwood and surrounding areas. The planned outage has been scheduled to provide necessary maintenance to existing electrical lines. The outage is expected to begin at 10:00 A.M. and will be continue for approximately 7 hours. According to a release, the Gila National Forest and the NEC urge the public to plan ahead for the power outage and if using a generator, that it should be installed and inspected by a qualified electrician. The NEC will provide updates during the outage on their Facebook page and website, navopache.org.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation is announcing that starting tomorrow, September 29th, NM Highway 159 will need to be closed for one day for a culvert pipe replacement. This roadway closure will take place from 9:00 A.M. until 43:00 P.M. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed passage during the closure times.
