Due to the heightened risk of wildfires this season, Gila officials are urging all visitors to practice responsible recreation. To protect the forest and its surrounding communities, visitors are reminded to follow campfire safety, properly dispose of smoking materials, follow best practices when target shooting, properly dispose of trash, respect wildlife and to know before you go. Following these practices will not only protect the forest but will protect forest visitors as well.
