Last in our news is an update on The Turkeyfeather Wildfire:

As of this morning of July 14, the Turkeyfeather Wildfire—first reported on June 30 and located approximately 22 miles southeast of Reserve—remains 0% contained. The fire continues to burn through areas affected by previous wildfires, consuming downed fuels, forest duff, and heavy debris that have accumulated on the forest floor. Over the weekend, the fire’s northeast perimeter crossed Gilita Creek roughly a quarter mile southwest of Snow Lake Campground, prompting firefighting crews to assess conditions and initiate strategic firing operations along Snow Lake Road to prevent further northern spread. On the southwest flank, the fire advanced toward Willow Creek, where crews are actively monitoring conditions and evaluating the need for additional firing operations. Command of the Turkeyfeather Wildfire will transition to the Gila Las Cruces Zone Type 3 Incident Management Team on Tuesday, July 15.
