The Silco Theatre in Silver City celebrated its 100th year anniversary this past Wednesday. Local actors, musicians and comics were in attendance to help support and celebrate this special event. The Silco was first built as a Library Theatre in 1923 and was renamed the Silco a few years later for the silver and copper mining that drove the economy. Over the years it was converted into El Sol Theatre, Gila Theatre, Skyvue Drive-In and now the Silco Theatre. The Silco continues to make improvements on the theater to make it a better place for the community.
