Luna County is currently seeking letters of interest to serve as a member of the Marshall Memorial Library. Please submit your letters of interest no later than April 5th to the Luna County Manager’s office.
The Town of Silver City has board vacancies for the Lodger’s Tax Advisory Board, the Museum Advisory Board, and the Planning and Zoning Commission. To learn more about these volunteer opportunities, go to the Town of Silver City website.
Grant County is in the process of appointing seven members to the Gila Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees. If you are interested in this three year term, go to the Grant County website.
There is also an opening on the committee named “Grant County Road Abandonment Committee.” The Grant County Board of Commissioners is seeking three individuals to serve on this committee for three years. Letters of interest must be received by Wednesday of this week for this committee consideration.
The Gila National Forest is partnering with the Small Business Administration and Procurement Technical Assistance Centers to help southwestern New Mexico contractors become eligible for opportunities to win federal government contracts and help job seekers learn about and apply for federal jobs. The next P-FLAG Silver City meeting will have guest speaker, Sharla Lefkowitz-Oberg, the director of Silver City Mainstreet, speak and entertain questions about how Mainstreet and the LGBTQ+ community can work together. The public is invited to attend the April 2nd meeting at 6:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship located at 3845 North Swan. Sharla Lefkowitz-Oberg has extensive experience in downtown revitalization, community building, advocacy, marketing, communications, and administration. Originally from Upstate New York, she lived in Silver City from 2012-2013 and now has returned with her family.
