Local students have been awarded 2021 HMS Scholarships in their pursuit of careers or degrees in the healthcare field. Baylee Motes, a graduate of Cliff High School will be attending NMSU this fall with a major in kinesiology with plans to pursue a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Madison Miller, a graduate of Lordsburg High School, is combining her love and interest of sports and science to pursue major in Exercise Science to become a Physical Therapist. Mya Alizae Teran, a graduate of Silver High School, will be attending NMSU this Fall pursue a Nursing Degree. Mya has received a Certificate of Completion in the CNA program at WNMU by being dual enrolled in her senior year. Mya’s long-term goal is to become a doctor. AngaLeena Jarvis, a graduate of Animas High School, will be attending Eastern Arizona College this Fall to pursue a career in nursing. While obtaining her degree, AngaLeena plans on working in small clinic. Congratulations go out to these exceptional students as they pursue careers and degrees in the medical field.
The Grant County Board of Commissioners will convene in a Work Session Meeting tomorrow morning, July 6th at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will take place in the Commission Meeting Room at the Grant County Administration Center located at 1400 Highway 180 East in Silver City. The agenda for the Work Session Meeting may be altered up to seventy-two hours prior to the meeting and copies can be obtained from the County Manager’s Office or viewed online at www.grantcountynm.gov. The meeting will be livestreamed on the County Facebook Page.
