Great job to both students!

Ambercare Hospice and the Silver City Women’s Club will be starting a “Bereavement Support Group” to help individuals deal with the different stages of grief that come with the passing of a family member or close friend. The goal of the group is to help provide a safe environment that participants can turn to for hope and healing in a sensitive manner. The group meets the second Monday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Silver City Women’s Club and is free and open to the public.

The Southwest New Mexico ACT in partnership with the Town of Silver City is working on restoring the Waterworks Building and 5-acre grounds adjacent to Silva Creek. The vision is to create a waystation for Continental Divide Trail thru-hikers to rest for a few days and enjoy the many amenities that Silver City has to offer such as campsites, a camping kitchen, composting toilets and solar showers. The site will also be expanded into an educational campus for local schools/classrooms to explore the environment, history and culture of the region. The site is set to be complete and ready for campers this summer.
