The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is inviting public comment on a draft environmental assessment for the proposed Starvation Draw earthen dams project near Deming in Luna County. The $3.66 million funding for this project is made possible through the Great American Outdoors Act, a significant investment aimed at addressing the protection, deferred maintenance, and repair needs of public lands. This funding has allowed the BLM to undertake major asset improvement projects, reduce construction costs, and make critical repairs to public infrastructure, including the Starvation Draw project. The comment period ends March 17th. Project documentation is available for review, and public comments can be submitted through the website.
