The Deming Luna County MainStreet Program will be having a variety of Christmas events happening tomorrow, December 2nd. Between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. there will be free photos and goodie bags with Santa Clause at the Luna County Courthouse. The annual Lighted Christmas parade will start at 6:00 p.m. and will begin on Pearl Street and travel down Spruce Street and Gold Avenue. Immediately following the parade, all are encouraged to attend the “Community Tree Lighting” event which will take place at the Luna County Courthouse. Santa Clara Volunteer Fire and Rescue Firefighters Alonso Romo and Angel Granadino were recently awarded certificates for their outstanding service and for showing what a true volunteer means. Congratulations to both firefighters and thank you for the service you provide to the Village of Santa Clara and all its community members. 

Come join Western New Mexico University as they present their “Jingle and Mingle” festive seasonal celebration this evening, December 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy live music and entertainment, children’s crafting activities, “Ugly Sweater” contest and much more. The celebration will take place in Graham Gym on the WNMU campus and is free to the public.

The Center for Health Innovation-Public Health Institute will be having a “Southwest New Mexico Community Wellness and Health Fair” on Thursday, December 7th from 4:00 to 6:30 to discuss and provide information regarding Behavioral Health issues, how to access Behavioral Health services and much more. There will be opportunities to meet with behavioral health providers, elected officials, and community leaders to share your stories and ideas, clarify community needs through interactive sessions and to ask questions.
