Veterans are will be able to learn how to utilize the MyHealth.VA.gov website and take control of their well-earned benefits. The training is scheduled for Friday, February 25th in the WNMU GRC Besse-Forward Building, room 100. Participants will be able to work with Congresswoman Yvette Herrell’s Veterans team to learn how navigate the informative website and take advantage of opportunities and benefits afforded to all veterans. The portal has links to the Veterans health library, pharmacy assistance, appointment reminders, health records, messages to VA staff, and much more. The New Mexico Tourism Department is seeking nominations for individuals statewide to serve on the New Mexico Clean & Beautiful Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is tasked with providing leadership to support state-wide litter eradication, waste reduction, and community beautification initiatives. In accordance with the “Litter Control and Beautification Act” seven to eleven members will be appointed by the tourism commission.
After being paused for two years, Glenwood is welcoming their 16th Annual Whitewater Mesa Fun Kite Flying Picnic on Saturday, April 2nd. The last event before the COVID-19 pandemic boasted 163 participants that enjoyed kite flying, exploration of one or all of the six of the labyrinths and a maze across the road at Whitewater Mesa Labyrinths, and tailgate picnicking. For the third time the event is sanctioned by the American Kitefliers Association and in addition has joined the international world of kitefliers.
