The 31st edition of the Tour of the Gila is here! Residents and spectators are reminded that if you need to be out of town, Wednesday, please make plans to leave by eight am so not to be slowed by the 94 mile “Silver City to Mogollon” race. U.S. 180, N.M. 211 and N.M. 159 East are expected to be impacted due the races from 8 am to late in the afternoon; everyone is urged to plan accordingly. Wednesday’s race begins with the “Master Men A” category starting at eight am at Gough Park and ending on Highway 159 East, near mile marker seven. Different categories will continue to leave at staggered times, with the last to leave being the “Men One Two” category at ten a.m. and expected to arrive on N.M. 159 Eastbound around one p.m. US 180, N.M. 211 and NM 159 East are expected to be impacted due the races from eight a.m. too late in the afternoon with rolling road restrictions. “Paid in part by Silver City Lodger’s Tax.”
