Thursday is the second day of racing of The 31st edition of the Tour of the Gila. Here are some road advisories for the “Inner Loop” 80 mile road race. Roads impacted include NM 15, NM 35, NM 152, NM 356 and US 180 from 7:15 am to 2:30 pm. Everyone is urged to plan accordingly. A road closure on NM 15 will happen from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm – the road will be closed from mile markers 6 thru 25. Races begin at 7:50 a.m. and additional races will follow. Various categories start at staggered times, with the “UCI Men” starting at 9 am, and the UCI Women at 10:40 am at the Fort Bayard Medical Center. Races are expected to finish at Old Fort Bayard beginning around 11 am, up to 2:30 pm. The UCI Men will loop through Bayard at mid-day. Everyone is invited to come out and cheer on the racers! Again, NM 15, NM 35, NM 152, NM 356 and US 180 are all expected to be impacted due to races from 7:15 am to 2:30 pm. The race will not affect business in Pinos Altos “Paid in part by Silver City Lodger’s Tax.”
