The Mimbres Region Arts Council is pleased to present Jean Biddick as part of their Artist Lecture Series this Thursday, November 14th, in conjunction with the Southwest Women’s Fiber Arts Festival taking place this weekend. Biddick will speak at WNMU Parotti Hall at 6:30 on Thursday, and there is no charge to sit in and listen.
According to a release from the MRAC, Jean Biddick is “an award-winning quiltmaker, author, and teacher whose specialty is creating stunning machine-pieced masterpieces.” Biddick spent many years as a teacher, first teaching math, and later quilting. Over the past ten years, she has focused on designing pieces inspired by mosaic tile work. She has received “numerous accolades for her beautiful machine-pieced and mosaic tile quilts, including the American Quilter’s Society and the International Quilt Festival in Houston.” She is also the author of Blended Quilt Backgrounds and Masterful Machine Pieced Quilts.
