The NMDOT has updated the roadway advisory alert for Grant County.  Currently the closure for NM 211 at Bear Creek in the Gila has been lifted.  NM 159 from mile marker 10 to 25 in Mogollon remains closed.  Motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution and obey all traffic alerts in the Mogollon area until conditions change.

Road closures are in effect in relation to flooding from the rains (which we are not complaining about in the least).  Reasons for road closures can include high water levels or  debris that has been washed out into the road.  In times of potential flooding, the NMDOT encourages travel in these areas with high-clearance vehicles and, of course, “Turn Around: Don’t Drown.”

You can review additional road closures on NMDOT’s website at nmroads.com.
