According to www.nmfireinfo.com, as of 9 pm last night, the Signal Fire, located on Signal Peak outside of Pinos Altos, is estimated at 2,700 acres. The fire was reported Sunday afternoon, and crews fighting the fire include One Type I Hotshot Crew, Smoke Jumpers, 3 Heli-tankers, 1 Type 2 Helicopter, and 3 Engines. Highway 15 from Ben Lilly Monument to the gravel pit near Wildhorse Mesa is closed. Crews are employing full suppression tactics to try to extinguish the blaze.
