Here’s a look at today’s headlines:
At the Grant County Commissioners meeting, Gila Regional Medical Center Interim CEO Alfredo Ontiveros informed the commission that the CEO selection committee is looking at candidates and will, in a closed meeting today, decide who to interview initially before the final three to five are sent to the board for a decision.
A proposal was also approved to award management and operation services of the Grant County Veterans Memorial Conference Center to the Grant County Chamber of Commerce.
The New Mexico Department of Health joined the American Diabetes Association in recognizing Tuesday, March 28th, as “Diabetes Alert Day” to raise awareness about the disease and encourage New Mexicans to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. It is estimated that one in five New Mexicans are not aware that they have the condition, and four in five persons with prediabetes are unaware.
