HMS Family Support Services will be hosting the “Get Covered” Health Care Enrollment Event on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at HMS Silver City Family Support Services building 9am-4pm.
The March 31st deadline imposed by the Affordable Care Act is fast approaching, and Grant County residents are encouraged to be sure they have insurance coverage to avoid financial penalties. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) aims to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance, lower the uninsured rate by expanding public and private insurance coverage, and reduce the costs of healthcare for individuals.
With the expansion of the Medicaid program in New Mexico, many residents not formerly eligible for Medicaid may find themselves eligible for health insurance at no cost. Others will be able to shop for affordable insurance to meet their needs.
HMS Family Support Services has certified Enrollment Specialist available to help you determine whether you qualify for public health insurance programs such as Medicaid (ages 19 to 64), also known as Centennial Care, or the new Health Insurance Exchange (private insurance) as well as QMB Medicaid to help those who already have Medicare.
