The Village of Santa Clara announces that two public meetings will be held to gather community input on proposed projects for inclusion in the Village’s Infrastructure and Capital Improvement Plan. These meetings aim to engage residents in identifying and prioritizing capital projects that will shape the future development of local infrastructure. Citizens are encouraged to participate and share their perspectives to help establish planning priorities. The meetings are scheduled for tomorrow, June 12, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and will take place at the Village City Hall.

The Gila National Forest has announced the installation of new culverts on Forest Road 94 this spring, with the route now being graded regularly to accommodate increased traffic. In addition, the forest roads crew is actively working to improve conditions on Forest Road 119, including trimming overhanging limbs to enhance safety and accessibility during the ongoing bridge replacement project. A contractor has installed a detour sign at the road closure site, directing traffic onto Forest Road 119. However, this detour route is a rough, four-wheel-drive road and is not suitable for most vehicles.

The Luna County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to vote on Resolution 25-38 during its regular meeting on June 12, which proposes expanding the board from three to five members. The resolution aims to enhance representation and oversight within the county government. In addition to this measure, the commissioners will consider several other items, including a resolution supporting a National Fitness Campaign grant application and a resolution acknowledging Catron County’s disaster declaration concerning the impact of Mexican grey wolves. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Luna County Courthouse and is open to the public.
