The Village of Santa Clara has announced the completion of this year’s restoration work on the historic Bradley Hotel Building. Utilizing grant funding, the Village has made substantial exterior improvements to preserve and enhance the landmark’s structural integrity. The Village of Santa Clara is planning on securing additional grants next year to begin interior renovations, which will further transform the building into a functional and inviting space. Once fully restored, the Bradley Hotel is expected to serve as a public event center.

The Commons: Center for Food Security and Sustainability is supporting Grant County residents by ensuring equitable access to nutritious food, especially in light of upcoming federal funding cuts to the SNAP program taking effect on November 1. To help address this need, The Commons will continue offering several essential services, including mobile food pantries throughout the county and the “Choose Your Own” Pantry in Silver City, emergency food and snack bags for those facing urgent food insecurity and community dinners. In Hidalgo County, every day is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day thanks to six new convenient drop-off locations dedicated to keeping the community safe and healthy. Residents can now easily dispose of unused or expired medications at the Hidalgo Medical Services Animas Valley Clinic, the Virden Community Center, the Lordsburg-Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce, the Ena Mitchell Senior and Wellness Citizens Center, Lordsburg City Hall, and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. With these new sites in place, Hidalgo County hopes to continue to promote responsible medication disposal and protect both people and the environment.
