Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) has partnered with Animas Public Schools to offer a work-study program for current Juniors and Seniors at Animas High School. The program began with an organizational orientation, where students received education on key topics such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (the designation held by HMS), patient privacy, hand hygiene, bloodborne pathogens, and infection control. As part of the program, students will rotate through various departments, gaining hands-on training and the opportunity to observe healthcare in action. The work-study initiative aims to expose students to potential career opportunities in the healthcare field.
