During the Gila Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees meeting, five team members were honored for their outstanding service and dedication. Rosie Humble was celebrated for her five years in pharmacy, Kimberly Dyndiuk for her ten years in the emergency room, and Lenora Naumann for 15 years in environmental services. Vanessa Yost was recognized for her impressive 20 years in labor and delivery, while Charnelle Lee was commended for her extraordinary 35 years in nursing. Congratulations to all these employees, and thank you for your unwavering hard work and commitment to the community.
Nominations for Western New Mexico University’s “Presidential Leadership Award”, which celebrates remarkable achievement, dedication, and leadership among staff members is open now until September 28th. Eligible for nomination are WNMU employees with at least three years of service, who work in a regular benefits-eligible positions, excluding faculty and senior leadership. University staff, faculty, students and affiliates of WNMU as well as members of the community are welcome to submit nominations. The City of Deming will host a Town Hall meeting tomorrow, September 10th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Deming City Hall, where the Army National Guard Drug Task Force will give a presentation on Drug Prevention. The city will also be giving an update on the Rio Mimbres Country Club. Community members are encouraged to attend and engage with the experts to foster a safer, healthier environment for all residents.
Deming Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Daena Davis as the new Principal of Bataan Elementary. Ms. Davis brings 25 years of educational experience, including a degree in Elementary Education K-8 from Western New Mexico University, a Leadership Administration License, and endorsements in Bilingual and TESOL. Ms. Davis began her career at Deming Public Schools as a 5th grade Bilingual Teacher at Smith Elementary. As the principal, Ms. Davis will have the opportunity to lead the dedicated team at Bataan Elementary and engage with parents, the community, and the school’s Advisory Council.
