Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) announced El Refugio, Inc. as the recipient of its third-quarter community donation, made possible through proceeds from cafeteria sales. The contribution is part of the Gila Regional CARES program—an ongoing initiative dedicated to supporting and strengthening the local community. With this donation, El Refugio will be able to replace essential items in its shelter bedrooms, ensuring a more comfortable and supportive environment for those seeking safety and renewal.

Road crews are maintaining a busy schedule across Deming and Luna County as multiple New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) projects progress. On U.S. Highway 180 and Gold Street, RT Electric continues signalization work at Railroad, Pine, Cedar, and Ash Streets, which includes the installation of traffic signals, curbs and gutters, ADA ramps, median curbs, signage, and striping. On New Mexico Highway 549, Mountain States Constructors is advancing roadway rehabilitation efforts between mileposts 24 and 31. Additionally, NMDOT crews will continue chip seal operations in both Columbus and Deming to improve road conditions and extend pavement life.
