Luna County recently honored two dedicated employees for their exceptional service and commitment to the community. Christopher Quarrell, from the Maintenance Department, and Georgina Martinez, from the Detention Center, were each recognized with a service award for their five years of hard work. These employees were commended for their contributions to the county, demonstrating a strong commitment to their respective roles and the well-being of the community. Congratulations to both employees.

Over the past few months, numerous volunteers, County Road workers, and Glenwood residents contributed their time and efforts to dismantle, transport, and re-install the playground equipment at Glenwood Community Park. The newly upgraded playground now features a vibrant blue slide complex with both open and enclosed slides, climbing structures, a zip line, new swings, and a teeter-totter. This enhancement adds a new dimension to the park, complementing its existing family-friendly amenities, including shaded trees, a pavilion, and a ballfield. The County extends its gratitude to the Reserve School Board for its generous donation of the playground equipment, as well as to the many residents who collectively dedicated over 350 hours of volunteer time and those who provided financial support for this community project.

The Youth Substance Awareness and Prevention Coalition of Grant County is inviting community members to participate in a brief survey to provide feedback on the coalition’s prevention initiatives. The survey aims to gather insights that will inform the development of the coalition’s goals for 2025 and contribute to fostering a safer, healthier community. To learn more and complete the survey, individuals are encouraged to visit the Youth Substance Awareness and Prevention Coalition’s Facebook page.
