The Village of Santa Clara has announced the launch of several community improvement projects to kick off the summer season. J&J Stucco has begun work on the historic Bradley Hotel, while additional efforts are underway through the Southwest New Mexico Forestry Network Project, the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC), and Aldo Leopold Charter School. These initiatives include tree removal, maintenance, and the planting of new vegetation, flowers, and decorative rock along sidewalk buffers to enhance the appearance of Main Street. Residents and visitors are also able to enjoy local recreational areas for free, including the Splash Park, Viola Stone Park, and Central Park.
During the Silver Consolidated Schools Work Session, the agriculture teacher and FFA sponsor from Cliff Schools recognized the achievements of various students who recently participated in FFA Career Development Events. Approximately 30 students competed across eight categories, earning notable placements including 21st overall in Agricultural Mechanics, 13th in Forestry, 8th in both Horse Evaluation and Food Science, and 14th in Livestock Evaluation. The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) advisor also highlighted student Ryann Tedford, who earned the top score of 95.3 on her “Make it to Market” project. This outstanding achievement qualifies her to compete at the national FCCLA competition in July.
