As a reminder, the Grant County Assessor’s Office is currently conducting physical reappraisals in the Village of Santa Clara, with field staff actively working in the area through the end of August. During this period, all properties within the village will be reviewed to identify and document any changes, such as additions, carports, garages, sheds, or remodels. These updates will be incorporated into the assessment rolls to ensure accurate and equitable property valuations.
A multi-agency training exercise was recently conducted in Animas, uniting school personnel, law enforcement agencies, and first responders to simulate potential hostage and active shooter situations. The comprehensive, real-time drill involved every Animas Public School employee, along with local school bus contractors and drivers, to create a realistic and effective training environment. The goal of the exercise was to help provide important insights into how existing procedures and practices might be adjusted to improve response effectiveness in real-life scenarios.
