At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a total of 41,863 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases statewide. In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County rose to 184 total cases with 67 recovered; Luna County has risen to 805 total cases with 253 recovered; Hidalgo County rose to 118 total cases with 84 recovered; and Catron County remains at 9 total cases with 6 recovered. Statewide there are currently 287 COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Starting in November, New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority will begin accepting applications for the new COVID-19 Housing Cost Assistance Program. The program will provide qualifying New Mexicans with as much as $1,500 per month for up to three months to pay back rent or mortgage payments and other housing costs. The COVID-19 Housing Cost Assistance Program is available to New Mexico households earning 80 percent or less of the median income in their area, adjusted for family size. The New Mexico Department of Transportation has released Winter Weather Driving Tips for road conditions in Southern New Mexico in preparation for snow and ice conditions this week.
