The Grant County Treasurer’s Office has announced that the 2022 property tax bill will be mailed out on November 1st. The first half installment will be due November 10th through December 10th.  Interest at a rate of 1 percent will be charged with a penalty of $5.00. Payments can be made at the Grant County Treasurer’s Office located inside of the Grant County Administration Building at 1400 Highway 180 East in Silver City from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, there are two secure and convenient boxes where the public can drop off payments. The first box is located in front of the Grant County Administration building and an additional box is located inside by the Treasurer’s Office. Payments can be made online at https://grantcountynm.gov , just click “Treasurer” and pay online. The public may call  with questions to the Grant County Treasurer’s Office at 575-574-0055.

Congratulations to Debbie Rogers, a broker at Silver Advantage Real Estate for being honored by the New Mexico Association of Realtors with the 2022 Realtor of the Year Award. Debbie has served as a real estate broker in Silver City since 1991 and has continued to be involved in the community through many activities.

Western New Mexico University has received a $50,000 USDA grant to collaboratively develop and design a food and agriculture curriculum that will support academic and career paths targeting Hispanic Serving Institutions and learners. The grant will allow the opportunity to work with a team of international experts to create an agriculture curriculum starting in high school and extending through college.
