The Luna County Treasurer’s Office has announced that Tax Bills were sent out on October 11th and that residents can view their balances by visiting their website at https://records.lunacountynm.us/treasurer.aspx?source=treasurer. In addition, payments can be accepted on the website, via phone, at the drop-box conveniently located at the south side  of the Luna County Courthouse building, in person at the Luna County Courthouse Building , in person at the Treasurer’s Office, or by mailing the payment coupon and check to the P.O box indicated. Any debit/credit card payments are subject to a 2.5% fee or minimum of $2.00. Residents can sign-up to receive the bill via email using the authorization code on the 2022 tax bill. The 2022 first half tax payments will be due on December 10th, 2022, without any penalties or interest.

The Kiwanis Club of Silver City is inviting interested volunteers that would like to participate in working with the youth of Grant County by providing Kiwanis leadership programs. No experience is necessary, just an interest in helping kids learn about leadership and believing in themselves. The club meets for two 12:00 noon meetings a month, the second and fourth Tuesday. In addition, there will be one evening business meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The Kiwanis Building is located at 900 Silver Heights Boulevard between Domino’s Pizza and Copper Manor Motel. Applications are being accepted for the 32nd Annual Lighted Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, November 26th in Downtown Silver City. The event, sponsored by Silver City MainStreet, the Town of Silver City, and Copies on the Run will feature Raul Turrieta as emcee and the Silver City Chorale performing before the parade. Parade applications are available 201 North Hudson Street with a deadline of November 15th.
