HMS is having a free drive through flu vaccination clinic this Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 12 noon at both their main clinic locations in Lordsburg and in Silver City. The drive-thru clinic offers a convenient and safe way to receive the annual flu vaccine. The locations for the drive-thru clinic are 530 East DeMoss Street in Lordsburg and 1007 North Pope Street in Silver City.
There is a “Meet the Candidate” event on Saturday, October 23rd from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. featuring the individuals running for open Cobre School Board positions, 1, 2, and 3 for the November 2nd election. The public is welcome to attend the event that is being held at the Santa Clara Armory located on Hwy 180 in Santa Clara. Early voting in Grant County is now open at the Grant County Clerk’s Office and will begin at the Bayard Community Center this Saturday October 16th. The last day to vote early is Saturday October 30th. The public may call the Grant County Clerk’s Office at 575-574-0042 for more information.
The Southwest New Mexico Seed Library is hosting a “Fall Seed Exchange” on Saturday October 30th from 9:00 A.M. to 12 Noon at the Silver City Farmer’s Market. The public can learn about seed saving tips and watch demos about seed saving and gardening. The public is invited to bring their own seeds to donate and can take home seeds for their own gardens. The Southwest New Mexico Seed Library makes available open-pollinated & heirloom seeds to local gardeners. The library supports local residents with educational programs on the value of seed saving and active seed stewardship.
