Silver City Radio continues to extend condolences to the friends and family of Martyn Pearson and Alexandra Olsen, the owners of Gila Hike & Bike in Silver City, who were tragically killed in an accident this past Friday.

This Saturday, November 5, there will be two memorial rides honoring Martyn and Alex. One ride will be a road ride, hosted by Dave Rutledge with Zia Velo, will leave from Gila Hike & Bike at 10:30am. This ride will be an out and back on NM 15. The second ride will be a mountain bike ride, hosted by Seth Bush with Zia Rides, will meet at 1:00pm at the Dragonfly Trailhead in Arenas Valley.
Cobre Consolidated Schools announces a Thanksgiving Food Drive that will run from November 1st through the 17th. The purpose of this Food Drive is to provide the Mining District Families with a Thanksgiving dinner and food for the holiday. Consider chipping in a donation to help for the purchase of boxes, turkeys and canned goods. Food donations should be non-perishable items. Donations should be made out to Cobre School District – Thanksgiving Food Drive. Drop off locations for food donations are Cobre Schools and the District Admin Office. The Grant County Treasurer’s Office has announced that the 2022 property tax bills were mailed out on November 1st. The first half installment will be due November 10th through December 10th.
Powerball Jackpot has reached $1.6 billion, a world record. New Mexico players have until 8pm on Saturday to buy tickets for the November 5th Powerball draw.
