At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a total of 48,104 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases statewide. In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County increased to 209 total cases with 72 recovered; Luna County has risen to 1,179 total cases with 281 recovered; Hidalgo County has risen to 127 total cases with 86 recovered; and Catron County remains 10 total cases with 6 recovered. Yesterday the NMDOH reported ten additional COVID-19 related deaths and 877 new cases statewide.
The New Mexico Department of Health has announced that they will no longer provide individual letters to employees in order to leave or return to work after testing positive for COVID-19. The department is requesting that in place of individual letters, that employees and employers heed the state’s public health guidance and requirements for quarantine isolation. Some of the guidelines for persons with confirmed COVID-19 with symptoms include:
- Maintain isolation at home for at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared
- At least 1 day (24 hours) has passed with no fever without the use of fever reducing medication; AND,
- Symptoms have improved
Further guidelines along with recommendations for persons who have only been exposed to a person who is positive for COVID-19 or have confirmed COVID-19 with no symptoms, may be found online at nm health dot org
Polling locations for the General Election are open tonight until 7:00 P.M. Absentee ballots may also be turned in at these polling locations.
