The Gila Community Foundation is pleased to announce a special grant cycle for organizations in Grant and Luna Counties, made possible through the support of Southline Transmission. Grants of up to $10,000 per applicant are available as unrestricted funding to help strengthen and sustain local nonprofit organizations. Eligible applicants must be fully compliant with IRS 501(c)(3) requirements, the New Mexico Secretary of State, and New Mexico COROS reporting. Applications must be submitted by November 25. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Silver City Pick It Up – Toss No Mas and its committed volunteers, the October Clean up event was a success. A total of 6 volunteers contributed 18 hours of service, removing 175 pounds of trash and debris from key areas throughout the community, including Hearst Mill Disc Golf Course, Snake Hill, Penny Park, Highways 90 and 180, the Visitor Center, and 32nd Street. Thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts in helping keep Silver City clean, beautiful, and welcoming for all.

The Early College High School archery team achieved impressive results at the “Top the Table” Tournament, earning second place in both the Bullseye and 3D team divisions. The team also celebrated several outstanding individual performances. Luis Armendariz claimed first place in the Bullseye division, while Ashlynn McGinnis earned second place in Bullseye and first place honors in the 3D division. Additionally, Carmelo Williams secured a second-place finish in the Bullseye division. Congratulations to all three students.
