Silver City’s Pick It Up-Toss No Mas would like to thank all the volunteers who dedicated their time during the October “Spooky Cleanup Day” event. Thanks to the efforts of 19 volunteers, a total of 49 hours was spent cleaning the community, resulting in the collection of 980 pounds of litter and debris from locations such as San Vicente Creek, the Visitor Center, 32nd Street, and Penny Park. This effort brings the program’s total to 25,837 pounds of trash collected. Among the standout contributors were Loren Poole, Natalie Hall, and the Arntzen family, who were recognized as cleanup superstars.

Did you know that the Southwest New Mexico Seed Library gives out hundreds of packages of free seeds every year? There are a number of locations in Silver City where you can get seeds including: The Commons, Silver City Public Library, Single Socks and the Silver City Farmers Market. Satellite Seed Libraries are located at the Valley Mimbres Market and the Bayard and Gila Library.
