The Village of Santa Clara recently approved several amendments during its Regular Meeting. The council authorized an amendment to Task Order No. 3 for the Oak Street bridge and roadway improvements, which will include design work, surveying, environmental certification, and hydraulic modeling of Cameron Creek. In addition, the council approved Amendment No. 1 to Task Order No. 4 for the 2024 Colonias Water System Improvements, expanding the scope of work to include the design and construction or rehabilitation of wells. Construction for this project is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 and conclude in November of the same year.

The Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network will be removing dead and dying trees and performing safety pruning in the City of Deming this week, with the work being conducted by Southwest Tree Solutions. The organization’s mission is to plant trees and provide technical support to community partners throughout southwest New Mexico to ensure long-term tree health and proper maintenance. Tree work will continue across the city, with additional projects planned for early 2026.

The Bayard City Council will hold its Regular Meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, at Bayard City Hall. Agenda items include discussion and possible action on the renewal of the City of Bayard Wastewater Treatment Plant Project Agreement with Freeport-McMoRan Chino Mines, Inc.; discussion and action regarding Capital Outlay requests for the 2026 Legislative Session; and consideration of Resolution 21-2025, authorizing the City of Bayard to enter into the Design Funding Agreement among the State of New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission, the City of Bayard, the Village of Santa Clara, and the Town of Silver City.
