According to the New Mexico Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard, as of March 2nd, Grant County has fully vaccinated a total 2,928 residents for a total of 12.7% of its population. In addition, Luna County has fully vaccinated 2,218 residents for a total 11.8%; Hidalgo County at 578 residents for a total of 17.1%; and Catron County for a total of 483 residents for a total 15.2%. The Deming Senior Center Commission on Aging is hosting a virtual public hearing to allow residents to share their concerns and comments regarding the Center’s operations at 800 South Granite Street. The virtual meeting will be held this Friday, March 5th on Google Meet. The Deming Luna County Commission on Aging, Inc., manages the Deming Senior and the Deming Luna County Adult Day Care Facility. The Building was named “The Robert L. Beckett Senior Complex” in honor of former Deming Mayor, Robert Beckett. New Mexico Mainstreet has been working with Silver City Mainstreet in providing three new resources to assist merchants and property owners in the Mainstreet District as Silver City. The resources include a Market Analysis of Commercial Lease Rates, a Property Owner Toolkit, and Signage Guidelines for the Downtown District. The tools provided will assist landlords and tenants with lease negotiations, assess risk and property redevelopment feasibility, and share suggestions on how to navigate through owning and operating a business in the Mainstreet District.
