The New Mexico Department of Health has begun updating the daily reporting of COVID-19 data and making the information directly available to the public online. The revision is presented in lieu of the formerCOVID-19 case count news release, whereas the NMDOH will now post data directly to the state COVID-19 website using a Tableau data dashboard, Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays, at 2:00 P.M. along with other weekly epidemiology reports. The data will include the following: daily number of hospitalizations and patients on mechanical ventilation; daily and cumulative number of deaths; daily and cumulative number of cases; and daily number of new tests results reported. The information will be found online at  cv.nmhealth.org/epidemiology-reports.

Luna County Commissioners have passed two new Proclamations for the Month of April. The first proclamation passed is designating the month of April as “National Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Month. The increased awareness in the community will promote the social and well-being of children and families giving them a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. The second proclamation passed consisted of Luna County recognizing fair and equal housing and that it is a right guaranteed to all Americans in addition to being a fundamental human entitlement. The Board of County Commissioners have deemed April as “Fair Housing Month.”

The anti-litter program Pick It Up – Toss No Mas will hold its next Community Trash Cleanup this Saturday, March 19th from 9 am to 1:00 pm at the parking lot at Gough Park in Silver City. Volunteers can pick up trash bags, gloves, trash pickers and snacks at 9:00 am. Volunteers will spend the morning cleaning up litter at a location of their choice and then return to Gough Park between 12 pm and 1pm to drop off trash and recyclables and record their cleanup results.
