This award is part of a nationwide campaign that provides grants and assistance to veterans who are in the beginning years of farming or ranching. Mr. Zamora, who had six deployments while in the Army, retired in 2021 and decided to focus on his family owned farm. He currently has a 32 acre farm with 490 fruit trees and nine heads of cattle and hopes to develop a veteran-friendly agriculture business that utilizes all available resources to provide fruit, cattle and wood chips locally, regionally and nationally.
