Visitors to the Gila region will now find expanded amenities at Woody’s Corral Trailhead near the Gila Cliff Dwellings, thanks to the installation of eight new 20-by-30-foot corrals complete with nearby water troughs. The upgraded site offers space for parking and camping, with many trails to ride and explore. This project was made possible through a collaborative effort among the Gila Back Country Horsemen of New Mexico, the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (now Department of Wildlife), and the Gila National Forest.
