Gila Regional Medical Center proudly announced that a group of community members recently contributed two generous donations totaling $7,500 in support of the nonprofit organization, Rope 4 Hope. This local nonprofit is dedicated to assisting cancer patients and their families by offering vital resources, emotional support, and hope throughout their treatment journeys. With these contributions, Gila Regional Medical Center will be able to further enhance its ability to provide essential care and supportive services, ensuring that patients and their loved ones continue to receive the compassion and encouragement they need.

Ten projects across New Mexico have received Arts & Cultural District (ACD) Pilot Grants, designed to foster economic growth and celebrate the unique cultural identities of local creative districts. Among the recipients, the Silver City Arts & Cultural District was awarded $100,000 to expand the historic Silco Theater with the addition of a flexible black box–style performance space. This project aims to strengthen the local performing arts scene, stimulate downtown economic activity, and position the Silco as a regional cultural hub.

This year, nineteen outstanding New Mexico FFA members earned the prestigious American FFA Degree — an honor achieved by only one percent of members nationwide.  This remarkable accomplishment reflects their unwavering dedication, leadership, and passion for agriculture. Among the honorees are Sarah Gardner and Elizabeth McDonald of Silver City. All winners will be recognized on Saturday, November 1, for their exceptional achievements. Congratulations to both ladies on this outstanding accomplishment.
