Eight students from Lordsburg High School’s U.S. History class recently traveled to Washington, D.C., made possible by the generous support of the community, local donors, and the Lordsburg School Board. Upon their return, the students presented their experiences and insights to the school board. During the presentation, they expressed their gratitude for the district’s support. Their trip not only enhanced their understanding of U.S. history but it also helped foster a deeper connection with the community.

The Grant County Soil and Water Conservation District is thrilled to announce the awarding of the Mark Runyan Memorial Scholarship, which will provide $300 to support the New Mexico State Champion Horse Judging Team as they prepare for the national contest scheduled for January 2025. The Silver City FFA Ag Mech Team earned a Gold Medal at the National FFA Conference in Agricultural Technology & Mechanical Systems. In addition to the team’s success, individual honors were awarded to Trey Greeman for a Bronze Medal, Colter Massengill for a Silver Medal, and both Kathryn Woodward and Walter Woodward for Gold Medals. This achievement highlights the team’s dedication and skill in agricultural mechanics. Congratulations to all four students.
