The curing of grass growth from the recent monsoon season has contributed to heightened fire risk throughout the area. Officials note that, without unexpected rainfall, the fire danger level may soon rise to High. For information on what the weather may look like for the winter, visit the website.
Western New Mexico University is taking action to help combat the growing challenge of student food insecurity through its annual food drive and fundraising campaign, Round Up for Hunger. With the holiday break approaching—a time when campus resources and support networks are often limited—the initiative aims to ensure that students have consistent access to nutritious meals. By prioritizing student well-being, WNMU seeks to help learners focus on their education rather than worrying about their next meal. Donations to the Round Up for Hunger campaign will be accepted through November 21 at the WNMU One Stop Support Services Center and the University Bookstore.
