During its regular meeting, the Village of Santa Clara Council approved a merger with the Hanover Water Association. The merger will be facilitated through the State Engineers, consolidating both systems under Santa Clara’s management. The council also approved Resolution 2025-06, which formalizes the merger plan. The savings achieved by Hanover will be redirected to hire an additional maintenance personnel for Santa Clara, ensuring adequate coverage for the increased workload.

The Silver City Woman’s Club is pleased to announce the availability of three $1,000 Western New Mexico University (WNMU) scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. These scholarships are open to both male and female applicants pursuing any type of degree. Interested individuals can obtain application forms from the Silver City Woman’s Club on Mondays between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The deadline for submitting completed applications is April 28th. 

Hidalgo County, in collaboration with the City of Lordsburg, is developing an access road for Pyramid Shadows residents in response to the closure of the bridge at mile marker 24 on Interstate 10. The proposed plan includes an alternate route that will guide residents along the south side of Interstate 10, running parallel to the interstate, and exiting near the Lordsburg Municipal Airport. Construction for this project is expected to commence in the spring.
