The Superintendent of Silver Consolidated Schools has announced that Mrs. Chelsea Shock has been appointed as the interim principal for Cliff Schools for the remainder of the school year. Mrs. Shock is  a dedicated teacher, coach, and administrator, and is well-known within the community. This transition occurs during a time when the community’s resilience and spirit are being celebrated. With her leadership, it is expected that Cliff Schools will continue to grow and thrive.

The New Earth Project (Upper Gila Watershed Alliance) invites individuals to contribute their Christmas trees to a meaningful cause.  Donations can be made between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until January 12th at the project’s location at the end of Mobile Drive, just off Ridge Road in Silver City. The trees will be processed to help create living soil. Participants are kindly asked to ensure that their trees are free of tinsel, flocking, or other decorations, as the trees will be shredded for this purpose.

The Grant County Road Department recently provided an update on the Noonday Local Government Road Fund project, reporting that it is 85 percent complete. The department is currently focused on routine road blading, with particular attention to school bus routes. In District 1, the department addressed multiple washouts along Bear Creek, hauling 150 tons of material for repairs. District 2 has experienced ongoing issues with Norris Road, specifically with 13 crossings. District 3 has faced the most challenges, with significant moisture contributing to numerous washouts. In contrast, District 4 has encountered minimal problems, and all roads have been successfully bladed. District 5 has seen no major issues, only requiring routine maintenance, while District 6 has been managing Separ Road, which has required repeated blading due to traffic from power lines.
