Here’s a look at some local news brought to you by Silver City Radio.

Health officials from the State of New Mexico have issued public health guidance to residents to help ensure a safe holiday season despite the presence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some safe holiday tips include:

  • Do not travel to attend a holiday gathering whether in New Mexico or our of state to mix with another household. Stay at home and celebrate with household members.
  • Do not spend unnecessary time shopping for groceries or gifts, and do not make unnecessary supplement trips to the store. Try to order online, use curbside pickup, and avoid person-to-person contact.
  • If you choose to host a gathering with individuals from outside your own household despite the risks, keep six feet of distance and wear facemasks. Consider setting up a table outside so as to minimize the person-to-person interactions indoors.

If you choose to attend a holiday gathering with others, you significantly raise the risk of not only contracting the virus yourself but spreading the virus to friends and loved ones.
